When a module stops the car from starting
Engine computers (ECU/ECM), body control modules (BCM), transmission modules (TCM) and immobilizer units carry security and VIN data. When one is replaced, damaged or locked, the car may crank but not start, keys stop working, or the dash fills with security warnings. Swapping in a part without programming it rarely fixes that.
What we do
- ECU, BCM and immobilizer programming and data transfer
- VIN and security data matching for used or replacement modules
- TCM programming
- Immobilizer diagnosis: car cranks but won't start, security light, keys not recognized
- Bench reading and programming when a module can't be reached through the diagnostic port
Platforms we know
Immobilizer systems from BMW (CAS, FEM, BDC), Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Audi (including MQB), Ford, Chrysler/Jeep, GM, Toyota and Lexus, Nissan, Honda and Acura, and Subaru. Tell us the year, make, model and which module was replaced, and we tell you what's possible before we dispatch.

Frequently asked questions
I bought a used ECU or BCM — can you make it work?
Often, yes. Used modules usually need the car's VIN and security data. Send the vehicle details and the part number first.
The car cranks but won't start after a repair. Is it the immobilizer?
It's a common cause. A diagnostic check shows whether the immobilizer is rejecting the key or a module.
Stranded, or need a key programmed?
Call or text the year, make, model and where you are. We come to your vehicle and finish the job on site — 24/7.
